Hello, after trying the Grafana plugin on Thinger, I realised that it has not been updated for a while (it’s still on version 9 of Grafana).
I therefore signed up for Grafana Cloud, but I am stuck at connecting the InfluxDB data source on the Thinger server to it. I believe I need to create a proxy, but I don’t find any specific instruction for this task. Could someone tell me how to do it?
Thanks
Hi @tomastik
Something like the following picture should work for you to connect through the external port 8887 to influx
The influxdb plugin in Thinger will create this proxy automatically when installed.
We will also look into upgrading the version of the grafana plugin.
Best Regards
Thanks for your reply Jaime. I installed the influxDB plugin and I saw it also created a proxy. I can use this plugin fine now with my credentials, but for some reason I cannot still link the influxdb to grafana cloud. The error I am receiving is the unhelpful “InfluxDB returned error: Unauthorized error reading influxDB”. The options I am trying on there are:
URL https://myinstanceurl:8087 with basic auth. I tried both my username and password, and user ‘thinger’ and psw as specified in the server config. Doesn’t work sadly… any input would be great.
Thanks
Oh also, it would be great if you upgraded the Grafana plugin. I may be able to go with it instead if so!
Thanks
Hi @tomastik
We’ve updated the Grafana plugin to the latest available version! We hope this works for you
